I signed up on YouTube and uploaded my first video in 2007. Back then I thought it would be fun to record our Cambodian singers and upload the videos so our people all over the world can see them. Even today, it's still a fun hobby that I've been enjoyed doing.
Southern California is a great place to record Cambodian music. Because here, in "Cambodian Town” Long Beach, we have several places with live Cambodian music every weekend. There are many Khmer talented singers and musicians in this town.

I also feel proud seeing us Cambodians having fun to traditional Khmer dances: Ramvong, Saravan, Lamleav…and so on. The fun of it all, everything my videos captured are live and unrehearsed by the party-goers. I didn’t want to record from just one city so I’ve traveled to record us Khmer partying in San Diego, San Jose and Stockton. Since this is a hobby any expenses such as admission fees, traveling, lodging and meals are paid out of my own pocket.
I am humble by the popularity of Apsaravideo on YouTube. Without your viewership Apsaravideo wouldn't be where it is today.
